The year of 2013 has come to an end and Apple released their list of top 10. Minecraft pocket edition the building game for kids ruled the paid apps in US as well as UK where as candy crush saga managed to steal the top spot for free apps. These apps happens to show on the top of the list for both iphone and ipad.

Paid apps made money by doing direct sales when a consumer buys an app from app store, Free apps such as Candy crush saga make money by making in app purchase.

The reason Minecraft got popular is the kids who fell in love with this game and kept on playing for the sake for survival. Minecraft pocket edition got the kids totally involved in the game. As said by kalpan a developer at Mojang that Minecraft was not made by keeping kids in mind but if it is famous in kids than it’s a nice accident.

Developers wants to make Minecraft pocket edition to be more like a PC version with more features and less limitations, There are more games like Temple Run:Oz, Angry birds star wars and more which made to the top 10 list of paid apps.

Candy crush saga by king is the top game which is at the top of free apps, this is one of the most addictive game in the market. This game was made with social compatibility kept in mind so if you run out of life you can request your friends to help you out. This game can also be played on Facebook and in mobile version there is an option to connect to Facebook so you can see which friend is on which level and share your score on your timeline. This puzzler made a nice impact by reaching at the top of the list but there are few more free games on the free apps list as well like Temple Run 2, Despicable Me: Minion Rush.
